Hello there Bert,
there's only one area of my country that I would honestly recommend to you Sir, bring all your tenting stuff to my home county of Galway, So much to see, do, and enjoy, and if you prefer mountains, well, we have those too, especially Connemara,or The Slieve Auchty range, or even the Galway Bay coast, take your choice of beaches, you will probably have one to yourself anyway. and even in the most unassuming pub there may well be music and a great welcome from all to a stranger who is prepared to share a story, or a song or two, make them up as long as they entertain. and just relax and have fun. you can go fishing on the Loch Corrib , or if you just want to do nothing, there are plenty of people that will help you to get that done to your complete satisfaction too, on the day you arrive in Ireland, pick yourself up a guide book, and look for the green shamrock wherever you go, and be sure of a great welcome from members of the Irish Tourist Bord...known as BORD FAILTE' You may well see myself now, sitting on a large rock in Eyre Square Gardens, that's me with the little bowler type hat on my bronzed head, come and be seated next to me, and I will share a tale or two with you, and even listen to your own ones.
our food is simple and so very tasty and fulfilling, and you will not be charged the arms and legs from you to enjoy it, buses are frequent all over Galway covering most points of your compass, all we ask is to show a little kindness, and you will reap great mounds of the same unto yourself Sir, I hope to see you in my County, Bert, I am the one with the permanent smile on my big face, good luck now, and understand this sign, 'Caed Mile Failte' it's simply means, a 'hundred thousand welcomes' and I mean every one of them....... Bye for now.............Tony M
