What language do they speak in Ireland, my friend told me it is latin?

So will i have to learn Latin to fit in Ireland.

I cannot speak latin except the lines

I do not even know what these lines mean.
But when ever I say it an Irish person they run away from me.

Your friend is wrong, few Irish speak Latin, the main languages spoken in Ireland are English and Irish Gaelic. If you speak English you should be able to do just fine in Ireland.

Ah, Latin, we did that for 2 years at school. God only knows why, since I was born after Vatican II.
