I'm from Donegal..

Alot of Irish slang words are said in loads of counties so it's hard to say if they're just for my county, but I'll just mention the ones I can think of from Donegal..

Stain - Annoying person (like as in, ''she's a total stain'')

Pure - Very

hi - basically said at the end of every sentence. Doesn't even mean anything.

Lid/lawd - another way of saying 'lad' but it's like something you'd call your friends, not just someone who is male.. like ''what's up lid/lawd''.

On the beer - drinking. Doesn't necessarily mean drinking beer.. it just means alcohol in general.

Header/sham - Another way of sayin mad bast@rd, sham officialy means a knacker but most people just call their friends sham to take the píss, but it's been done so much that the meaning of the word sham has pretty much just become something to call your friends (like again as in ''what's up sham'')

Ratty - Cranky.. Generally used to describe girls who get emotional when drinking.

Plough on - Keep going

Keep her lit - Keep going/keep doing what you're doing

I have a north coast accent. Heres some words us folk use:

Folk- people

Scunnered- not in a good mood

Tatties- Potatoes

Brae- hill

Beck- mouth

Wee cutty- A wee girl

Frae- From

Thon- that

Thonder- Over there.

Thons while- Thats awful

Here- Some folk say "here" to get your attention it seems to be a northern irish thing because folk in derry city say hi to get folks attention.

Wan - the number one.

Oxters- underarms

canny- You can't do something

Coudlnae- same as canny

wunny- won't

dinny- didn't

naw- No People here have an obsession with that word its like they constantly say it in every sentence.

Way- with i'm going way her

Hay- I dinny hay that - I don't have that.

Hitty- I hitty go over there- i have to go over there

hinny- i hinny have that- i dont have that

and theres far more but i canny think of them right now. As you can see we've got quite an odd dialect LOL. Why is it that i am getting thumb downs? Is it because i have an ulster scots accent and you folk don't like protestants? I'm sick of this its sad i never discriminate against catholics because of their religion so why do it to us?
