What are the Irish people like?

I hear you guys are very welcoming, and you know how to live, and have a good time. Is this generally true? I know it will vary from person to person, but i just mean as a trend within the Irish people. Is it easy to make friends in Ireland?

I think Irish people are so lovely! I've been all over the world 6/7 continents and I have never found people as lovely, friendly and hospitable as Irish people. We have a great sense of humour and are very easygoing as a nation. Guaranteed you won't find anyone like us :) Its very easy to make friends so come over and enjoy :)

Hi, yes you are correct us irish are welcoming and definatly know how to live and have a good time, people in ireland love socialising and mixing with others usually over drinks :)



we are mostly laid back and friendly people



and im sure it would be easy to make friends,,



its just a lot of people are stressed right now because of this recession but we have to try stay positive......:)

People will be likely to talk to you, yes, if you are a friendly sort. But I strongly advise avoiding subjects like politics, history and religion. Those are social minefields.

A leading travel guide last year voted the Northern Irish as the friendliest people in the world! They had clearly not been there in July though

yes we are..we know how to have a good time thats for sure!if your thinking about visiting i would suggest Galway city as many tourists go there for the culture and the atmosphere!but the weather is always shite so bring plenty of umbrellas!

This isnt really true anymore. We used to be welcoming to tourists and strangers but those were the days when people did'nt have much. Now we have become a country of selfish and greedy people. This isnt true of everyone here, the old people are friendly and some of the young are too. We are still good at drinking aswell.
