Question:
Who do you want to form the next Government in Ireland?

Looking at the latest Sunday Business Post poll it looks like neither the government parties or the proposed opposition (Labour and Fine Gael) have the numbers to form a majority government. Is there a real alternative to the current muppets?

I'm a Green voter (in the north). Feel free to hate me, I am of course rightly ashamed.
If I was in the south, The Greens, under Gormley wouldn't get my vote. It was a mistake to form a government with FF and a bigger one not to pull out before that excuse for a budget was proposed.
Also every time I see Eamon Ryan I feel a sudden urge to throw something at the TV. Why grin when talking about the recession!?

Therefore I'd go for a rainbow coalition, with the greens (under new leadership). Surely they couldn’t do any worse no?

Acording to the results of the Red C poll FG on 33% and Labour on 14% would be able to make up the numbers to achieve a majority in the Dáil (they would get about 85 seats, 83 needed for a majority).

I personally would vote for FG/LAB, though now wouldn't be a great time to get into government having to sort out the structural deficit built up by overspending on the back of unstable tax receipts over the past decade - the policy measures needed to fix this (tax increases or spending cuts) don't make for fun times.

As for the rest, FF managed to waste a decade of economic success and deserve a thrashing at the next election, though the plain people of Ireland's love-affair with deV and his cronies has yet to end. Sinn Féin are an absolute joke, most of the idiots who vote for them in the south (situation up north is different) have no idea what their policies are and vote for them on vaguely republican grounds. The Greens just don't have the same strength as the PDs did - at least they got their tax-cuts through, the greens u-turn and flip-flop on any of their ideals.

Good news is the next election should be soon - can't see this shambles lasting much longer. Can you?

Either way you need Fianna Fail or Fine Gael in it. Fine Gael don't bother with policies they just sit there and ***** when they disagree rather than coming up with a viable alternative. So I'd have to say Fianna Fail back in. However you need to put a larger party than the Greens in with them because any small party will just get walked all over. With that in mind I'd like to see Labour. I want a Fianna Fail - Labour coalition but I don't think there's a chance of that really. Labour are well and truly stuck up Enda's a***.

I wouldn't vote for the Greens because after studying environmental politics I've come to the conclusion that they actually increase apathy regarding environmental issues when in power. People think the Greens are in power now so we don't need to do it ourselves anymore. They're an important party and certainly needed but they are best used when just outside the governing circle.

I don't know, who I'd vote for. Personally I don't know how my TV is still in one piece, as I've gotten so annoyed looking at the current crew on the box.

I have economics in my leaving cert, and I swear I'd be more qualified then the 2 brainless brians .

I have always voted labour, and as we have proportional representation here, we can vote in order of preference for everyone. Mary Harney represents my constituency, and while I think she is a good politician, I feel she is being scapegoated by the FF morons. But , I suppose she agreed to get into the bed with them.

As for the greens, who got my 3rd vote, I am so disappointed with them and, even though the local rep, does good work in the community, I would think twice about having Gormless in any sort of power.

Gilmore is the only person coming out with a bit of credence, other than that, I think we should give up as a nation, and hang our heads in shame for the clueless, moronic, right ring government wearing the mask of liberalism we have elected.

I vote for individuals, not parties. Anyone honest, with the interest of the country at heart, who will do the job they are being paid to do. The current shower are only interested in feathering their own nests, and keeping the dosh in the family. How many of them have nominated the wife or child to be secretary, advisor etc.? So far as I am concerned, Sean Haughey should not have felt entitled to a job because of who his Dad was - instead I think that fact alone should have put him out of the running altogether. And Bev is another one.

Virtually all the politicians we have are parasites, leeches on the country and the people they represent. Show me an honest one, and that person will get my vote.

I would not be too fond of any of them to be honest. They should put all the political parties in a big sweet bag. Pick out the best ones, like the caramels and leave the toffee sweets. Then they could make a new party out of the best sweets. They could give the party a new name and off they go. Of course I am sure this would be hard to do. So I suppose we are stuck with a few nice sweets and loads of bloody toffees that will break us, the coffee sweets will just leave a bitter after taste. Then of course there are the sweets that look great but there is a big nut in the middle.

Good Luck.

I think I would go for a Fine Gael with labour coalition.

It's not our "form of government" that's become destructive but how Obama is perverting and twisting it in order to advance his personal agendas, i.e., having the IRS harass non-liberal organizations, turning the Department of Justice on the media to try and silence them, etc.,.

The next Government in Ireland should be the bums on the streets of this country, they'd probably do a better job than the shower of bastards doing it now, i'm never voting again, ******* irish politicans should all be sacked and locked up.
